Terms & Conditions

The rules for using LiteOS.

Effective: [Insert date]

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of LiteOS, including the LiteOS website, web application, dashboards, tools, reports, modules, and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing LiteOS, or using the Service on behalf of a business, you agree to these Terms. If you are using LiteOS for a company, restaurant, café, bar, cloud kitchen, food business, or other organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

1. About LiteOS

LiteOS is an operational software platform for small and growing food businesses. It helps businesses record and manage sales, expenses, purchase bills, inventory, recipes, cashbook activity, team users, reports, and estimated business performance.

LiteOS is designed as an operating tool for day-to-day business visibility. It is not a replacement for professional accounting, tax, audit, legal, payroll, or compliance advice.

2. Eligibility and Authority

You may use LiteOS only if you are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement.

If you create or manage a LiteOS workspace for a business, you confirm that:

  • you are authorized to act for that business;
  • the information you provide is accurate;
  • you will ensure that your team users use LiteOS responsibly; and
  • you will comply with applicable laws while using the Service.

3. Accounts and Access

To use LiteOS, you may need to create an account and workspace. You are responsible for keeping login credentials secure and for activity that occurs through your account.

LiteOS supports different user roles, including Owner, Admin, Biller/Cashier, Purchase, and Platform Admin. Access to modules and actions may depend on the role assigned to a user.

You agree not to share accounts between multiple people. Each user should have their own login.

4. Business Data

You retain ownership of the business data you enter into LiteOS, including sales, expenses, purchase bills, inventory items, recipes, cashbook entries, team information, outlet information, and reports ("Business Data").

You grant LiteOS a limited right to host, process, transmit, display, and back up Business Data only as needed to provide, secure, improve, and support the Service.

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of Business Data entered into LiteOS.

5. Operational Estimates and Reports

LiteOS may generate dashboards, reports, estimated profit/loss, recipe costing, COGS estimates, inventory status, cash summaries, and other business insights.

These outputs are based on the data entered by users and the configuration of the workspace. They may be incomplete or inaccurate if the underlying data is missing, delayed, incorrectly mapped, or incorrectly entered.

LiteOS reports are operational estimates only. They should not be treated as statutory accounts, audited financial statements, tax filings, legal records, or formal compliance documents. You should consult qualified professionals for accounting, tax, legal, payroll, and regulatory matters.

6. Inventory, Recipe Costing, and Purchase Bills

LiteOS may calculate stock movement, inventory quantities, purchase bill impact, recipe cost, COGS, and estimated margins.

These calculations depend on correct item mapping, units of measurement, purchase bill entries, recipe setup, cost-per-unit values, and sales data. LiteOS does not guarantee that inventory or costing calculations will match physical stock, accounting ledgers, supplier statements, tax records, or audit requirements.

The business remains responsible for verifying stock, costs, tax treatment, purchase records, and accounting entries.

7. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

LiteOS may offer free trials, manual billing, paid plans, usage limits, or subscription-based access.

Plan limits may apply to users, outlets, features, or other resources. LiteOS may suspend, restrict, or cancel access if a subscription expires, billing is overdue, an account is misused, or the Service is discontinued for that workspace.

For beta, pilot, founder-led, or manually approved customers, LiteOS may apply commercial overrides at the sole discretion of the LiteOS platform admin.

Payment gateway billing, invoices, taxes, and automated renewals may be introduced later and may be governed by additional terms.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • use LiteOS for unlawful, fraudulent, harmful, or abusive purposes;
  • upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt the Service;
  • attempt unauthorized access to another workspace, account, database, or system;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, copy, resell, or misuse the Service;
  • enter false or misleading information with intent to deceive;
  • violate privacy, employment, tax, food safety, or business laws applicable to your operations;
  • use LiteOS to store highly sensitive information unless specifically supported and agreed.

LiteOS may suspend or restrict accounts that violate these rules.

9. Platform Admin Controls

LiteOS platform administrators may, where necessary, manage workspace lifecycle, subscription state, trial access, user status, support actions, commercial overrides, suspensions, archives, and soft deletion of workspaces or users.

These controls are intended for security, support, operational, billing, compliance, beta management, and abuse-prevention purposes.

Where possible, LiteOS will preserve business records rather than permanently delete operational data immediately, unless deletion is required or appropriate under applicable law or confirmed business instructions.

10. Third-Party Services

LiteOS may use third-party providers for hosting, databases, email delivery, analytics, monitoring, payments, authentication, storage, and support tools.

Use of LiteOS may involve processing data through such providers as necessary to operate the Service.

11. Service Availability

We aim to keep LiteOS available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or always-available service.

The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, internet issues, third-party provider issues, security incidents, or circumstances beyond our control.

12. Beta Features

Some LiteOS features may be released in beta, preview, pilot, or experimental form. These features may change, break, be limited, or be removed without notice.

Beta features should not be relied upon as final, audited, or production-grade outputs unless explicitly confirmed.

13. Data Backup and Export

LiteOS may maintain backups for operational reliability. Backups are not a substitute for your own business recordkeeping.

Businesses should retain independent copies of important bills, invoices, statutory records, accounting records, employment records, and compliance documents.

Where export tools are available, you may export supported data formats. Some export features may be introduced later.

14. Termination

You may stop using LiteOS at any time.

LiteOS may suspend, restrict, archive, or terminate access if:

  • you violate these Terms;
  • your subscription expires or remains unpaid;
  • your account creates security or abuse risk;
  • your workspace is inactive for an extended period;
  • we are required to do so by law;
  • the Service is discontinued.

Termination does not automatically delete all historical business records immediately.

15. Disclaimers

LiteOS is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LiteOS disclaims warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, and non-infringement.

LiteOS does not guarantee that reports, dashboards, inventory calculations, recipe costing, estimated P&L, tax calculations, or business insights are complete, accurate, or suitable for statutory filing.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LiteOS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, loss of revenue, business interruption, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or incorrect business decisions made using the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded, LiteOS's aggregate liability will be limited to the amount paid by the customer for the Service during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or INR 5,000, whichever is lower.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold LiteOS harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • your use of the Service;
  • inaccurate or unlawful data entered into LiteOS;
  • violation of these Terms;
  • misuse by your team users;
  • breach of applicable law by your business.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Continued use of LiteOS after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

Subject to applicable law, disputes will be subject to the courts of [Insert courts/city, e.g. Goa, India].
